Three Simple Things before Lent

February 19th, 2009 Posted in writing

Fitness trainers almost always stress the importance of warming up before working out or exercising. That’s also true for Lent. It’s tough to start Lent cold, without getting limbered up first. So, here are three things that might get the prayer muscles working.

1.    Take some quiet each day. It’s tough to pray if you never experience silence.

2.     Ask what you hope God will give you this Lent, and ask God to help you to receive whatever God wants to give.

3.    Think what things you might do (or avoid)  to improve your faith, hope, and love.

It’s not rocket science, just some simple things to get ready for Lent.
